CISS-150 Project 1 (10 points)

(Updated August 29, 2021)

Overview

You have been given three (3) virtual machines (VMs) in a resource pool that bears your name. Within these VMs, you are to configure the networking for each.

You will be given details and videos to watch to understand what needs to be done.

Learning Outcomes

  • Planning and design.
  • Enhancing existing virtualization and networking skills.
  • VMware guest modifications.
  • Installing updates and application software.

VM Login Details

For the VMs, the default username/password pairs are as follows:

  • Ubuntu: student/student
  • Windows Desktop: student/Win10password
  • Windows Server: administrator/W2k19password
Please do not change the passwords for the accounts on these VMs. Your instructor needs complete access to these VMs to grade your work.

Also, please leave the VMs running. If you run into an issue, leave the VM in the error state and contact your instructor. This way they can go into the VM, witness the issue, and provide a resolution.

You should choose your IPs from the range assigned to you in this document.

Make a chart of the details. You will be submitting this for review when you have completed this project. You will also need this information for other projects, so it is essential to keep this information handy.

Important Note!
You can apply any OS updates and VMware tools updates as needed. Please note that Ubuntu uses Open-VM-Tools and does not need to have them installed through the VMware guest operations.
